Turning Off the Akai DPS24 - Watch out for the triangle
DO NOT TURN THE DPS24 OFF whenever the "triangle"
( with the exclamation point in the center ) is on the screen.
The triangle appears in V1.40 and later whenever the DPS24 is writing to the
disk:
* during record
* just after any edit operation
* when changing setup parameters
* when saving mix scenes or locators
In V1.45 and later, it happens more often because the new mixer autosave feature.
The triangle stays on for a few seconds after the last operation.
Other than watching for this, just turn the unit off!
-------------------------------------
Update on the "Exclamation Triangle" -
it is there to remind you the DPS is writing to disc.
If the machine is turned off during a "write" you risk the chance of
corrupting
your project. Used to be that you never wanted to turn the DPS off with this
icon lit, but the new v1.50 OS however, makes a "hidden" copy of each
project now, so if this happens, the "copy" will load up on reboot.
