Backing Up To The CD-RW
The RESTORE function restores everything that is on the backup CD.
You can not select one project or another. A single CD-R is usually
the right size for backing up a single Project (with its variations).
If you use CD-R, you cannot add anything to the CD-R disc after the backup
has been made. Therefore, you need to use a new disc to backup the new version
of the Project, even if it is only mixer/edit data changes, with no new audio.
Regarding CD-RW's, you have both the Quick Erase and the Full Erase options.
Some CD-RW discs occasionally do not erase correctly (especially if they have
been already used several times), but you can erase them again and then write.

Backups:
On the DPS24, you can select which Project(s) you want to
backup to
CD-R/RW (one or multiple). However, when you are restoring a backup,
the entire backup is restored, so for instance, if the backup contained 2 projects,
both projects will be restored.
A project usually contains a single song, but you can also make multisong
Projects when preparing the master for a CD album.
( Example question ):
Let's say I have been working on 5 songs, each a separate "project" 1
thru 5,
and I want to back up song 2. Then I mess up song 2, so I want to restore it.
When I restore song 2, are the 4 other songs left untouched?
( Example answer )
Yes. Restoring one Project doesn't affect the others.
Note that when you are trying different things (edits/mixes) on a Song/Project
in the DPS24, you can also make virtual copies of the Project on the internal HD.
This copies only the project/mixer data, not the audio, therefore it takes
almost no HD space. This way, you can go back to the original Song/Project
without having to restore from CD.

Answer to a CD backup question?
When you insert a new CD in the drive, it might take 10-20 seconds for
the drive to spin-up and report that it is ready to the DPS24.
If you try to access the CD before that, the DPS24 might not find it.
A good idea: when inserting a CD in the drive, go to the CD-R SETUP page
(SHIFT+SETUP) or the SETUP / DISK page and wait until the DPS24 shows
the updated Disk Status (Blank, ...). And then, go to the page of the disk function
that you want to perform (Backup/Restore, Export, OS Update).
