Eve Jensen, 29 years old, turning a new page, on a
leisurley drive from Santa Fe to Long Beach, suddenly
finds herself caught up in a robbery and multiple murder
that the locals had all but forgotten about. And some
want it to stay that way.
Drawn in by forces she cannot control, and her own
values, she begins to uncover clues in ways the pokice
could not. And in the process, she discovers a link to
ancient Anasazi secrets and a lot about herself.

Barry Driscoll, the executive adviser to the CEO of
Promise Poultry Products, decides to try and boost
production by giving a new crew of illegal alien workers
a mixture of mind-focusing drugs, while they play a
virtual chicken processing production line video game
that is secretly laced with subliminal messages.
But everything goes terribly wrong.

The showcase of a small town north of the Mohawk River
Valley is a neatly kept asphalt path designed for walkers
and bicycle riders. It meanders through lush trees and over
gentle streams following the route of the railroad tracks
that were laid down over 130 years ago. The Rail Trail
was concieved long after the M.J &T. line was abandoned.

All was well until Jason Richards, a young journalism
student, decided to probe further into the death of a man
who reportedly died of a heart attack while jogging. But,
none of the city officials or police will talk to him; except
for a newly elected councilwoman. With her help, he
interviews the wife of the coronary stricken jogger, only
to find out he wasn't a jogger and was in perfect health.
The grieving wife also tells the odd duo that the old lady
who lives next door said many people have died in the
same place - long before it was The Rail Trail.
